Waste Management application to expand Riverbend Landfill

The Planning Commission meets at 7PM on Jan 8th in the County Court House to vote on the Application to expand the dump. We expect a full house.

During the recent heavy rains, several local pilots took graphic photos of the water lapping right up to the edge of the dump, which were forwarded to county planners and the News Register.

Michael Brandt, Yamhill Co. Planner, was contacted, and actually went out to the home of Susan Meredith to see the flooding situation. She reports that he acknowledged that people who now have full-on views of the ever-growing landfill might well lose their property value because of prximity to the dump
